Pavprene® is the trade name of a family of elastomeric compounds offered by So.F.Ter.  for the road sector. By using the bitumen properly modified with Pavprene® pavements with a high degree of safety, comfort and life can be obtained.

Safety:
wear course lets the tire have higher roadholding in pickup as well as braking. In the specific case of draining carpets (which can be properly obtained by using modified bitumen only), the backwater is strongly reduced, therefore the reflex of the headlights is eliminated, so improving the night visibility.

Comfort: : draining carpets also are sound deadening. By using a properly formulated carpet, a noise reduction of about 6dB can be obtained (see the table of the noise levels).

Life: it can be reasonably supposed that a road carpet with modified bitumen outlasts by some times a common carpet.

In order to improve the bitumen quality and thus the conglomerate quality, So.F.Ter. places at the disposal of the market a range of products that can satisfy every needs in the road carpets sector. Those products permit to obtain a binder showing:
- reduced thermic susceptibility (higher resistance to the low and high temperatures);
- better mechanical characteristics (elasticity, cohesion, non-deformability) at high service temperatures;
- less ageing (the life increases).
